Preservation Kentucky and the Kentucky Heritage Council in partnership with the Franklin County Trust for Historic Preservation will hold a workshop for real estate professionals on Wednesday, November 18, at the historic Whitaker Bank building, 130 West Main Street in downtown Frankfort. Licensed agents can earn CEU credits for attending: 2 hours elective/2 hours law. Registration opens at 9am and the workshop runs from 10am until 2:30pm. The $40 per person includes lunch and snacks. The workshop is designed to help real estate professionals gain a better understanding of historic properties and includes sessions on common architectural styles, practical preservation concerns, Secretary of Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation, Federal and Kentucky Historic Preservation Tax Credits, easements, tax considerations for rehabilitation, and local ordinances.
Architects, planners, Main Street directors, community and neighborhood advocates, and elected officials are also encouraged to attend.
Instructors are staff members of the Kentucky Heritage Council.
